How To Renew Or Replace?
To Renew:
The EU Disabled Persons’ Parking Permit must be renewed every two years. An out of date parking permit is invalid and has no entitlements.
Disabled Drivers Association issues a renewal form to all cardholders approximately three weeks before the permit is due to expire with full instructions on how to renew. Renewal notices will be sent to the address to which the original permit was sent, so in order to receive an renewal form changes of address should be advised to us.
If for any reason, you do not receive a renewal form or you require a renewal form in advance of the date it will be sent to you, please request one either by telephone (094 936 4054), email (parkingcard@ddai.ie) or by post Parking Permit Section, Disabled Drivers Association, Ballindine, Claremorris, Co. Mayo.
When renewing the card it is important to advise the Disabled Drivers Association of any corrective surgery or treatment that may have altered the level of the holder’s mobility in the section provided on the form. Failure to do so may constitute obtaining a permit by fraudulent means.
To Replace:
To replace a card that has been damaged or disfigured contact us by telephone (094 936 4054), email (parkingcard@ddai.ie) or by post Parking Permit Section, Disabled Drivers Association, Ballindine, Claremorris, Co. Mayo. The standard fee of €35 will apply.
Lost Parking Cards
If a card holder should lose a card the cardholder and there little hope of retrieving it, the cardholder should inform the Disabled Drivers Association as soon as possible either by telephone (094 936 4054), email (parkingcard@ddai.ie) or by post Parking Permit Section, Disabled Drivers Association, Ballindine, Claremorris, Co. Mayo.
Holders of a parking permit are advised that they have a duty of care in relation to their permit; It is a valuable privilege and permits which are lost may not be re-issued. If a Disabled Driver Association issued parking permit is lost or mislaid the loss must be reported in writing, outlining in so far as possible the circumstances.
A period of time may lapse after the reported loss of the permit before replacement as most cards are found during this time. If however, the card is still missing after a four week period and if (depending on the circumstances) the card is to be replaced, one new photograph of the holder will be required, along with their signature and address; there is a charge of €35 to replace a lost card.
Stolen Parking Permits
The EU Disabled Persons Parking Permit allows coveted privileges to the holder. This results in a good deal of theft of the permit, either directly or as part of a car or other theft. Stolen cards should be reported to the Gardai and the Issuing Authority as soon as possible. When accompanied by a confirmation of a Gardaí report, stolen cards are replaced at the standard fee of €35. One new photograph of the holder will be required, along with their signature and address

1. the old parking card,
2. one passport size photograph of applicant
3. a sample of the signature of applicant
4. address of applicant
5. Fee of €25.
