Europcar Mobility Group Ireland partners with the Disabled Drivers Association of Ireland
in a new mobility initiative
Europcar Mobility Group Ireland has partnered with the Disabled Drivers Association of Ireland in a new initiative to make their Dublin Airport locations as accessible and convenient as possible for customers with limited mobility.
Europcar will equip their branches at Terminals 1 and 2 in Dublin Airport – their busiest location - with signage for renters who have limited mobility or special hearing requirements.
To accelerate the collection and return of rental vehicles, Europcar’s onsite staff will now also prioritise the processing of these customers so they do not face excessive waiting times.
Furthermore, even if they have not specified as much during the booking process, customers with limited mobility will no longer be expected to leave the terminals at Dublin Airport to pick up or drop off their rental vehicle. A Europcar team member will always be on hand to provide and receive the vehicle.
The global Europcar Mobility Group is committed to removing any barriers to an open mobility for all. Their goal is to provide accessible, sustainable and dynamic mobility solutions to the world.
Europcar Mobility Group Ireland MD Colm Brady said he hoped the partnership with the Disabled Drivers Association of Ireland will soon become standard for the car rental industry.
He said: “The Disabled Drivers Association of Ireland does incredible work for Irish motorists with limited mobility and Europcar Ireland is extremely proud to align with this admirable organisation. It is my great hope that our shared initiative will inspire others in the mobility sector to adopt similar measures so all drivers can travel with the same level of dignity and safety.”
The Europcar Mobility Group Ireland does not currently offer wheelchair accessible vehicles or vehicles equipped with hand controls.
